Dark Knight
Opening night I went to see the new Batman movie The Dark Knight. I have been looking forward to seeing this movie for a while. I was defiantly anticipating the hype and felt this would be one of the best action films in some time. After viewing the movie I felt it lived out to all the hype and was an incredible movie. Although, about 2 and half hours into I felt the movie should have ended. There were many scenes were it would have been perfect for the movie to end the saga of the new Batman movies will continue. Unfortunately the movie dragged on for another 3 hours which may have not made the movie a failure but did make me think about the choice of stretching the movie to 3 hours. I feel that the ending can make a movie, The Dark Knight did not need the perfect ending but I felt it would have only helped. I apologize if you haven't seen the movie for this reference but I felt the movie should have ended right after when Two Face was in the hospital and flipped the coin to decide the life of the joker. When he flipped his coin and find out that the side is on the dark side he should have proceeded to kill the joker and blow up the hospitals himself. With this he would become the new pronounced villian of Gotham City and the next movie continue with this concept. In the real ending the coin decided that joker lives on and the movie went on a couple of tangents until two face dies and the joker lives on. I do realize because of the remarkable performance by Keith Ledger would continue the character of joker in the movie buuttt he overdosed making the movie so that idea is lost. By changing the ending to my idea would not only overcome the obstacle of bringing back the joker but also would have shaved 30 min. of the movie off making it a perfect action movie and possibly one of the best of all time. I may not be some type of big hollywood director but I did have a strange feeling that the movie should have ended a different way then it did. I have not thrown in the towel just yet until I see the next Batman movie so I guess this was just a good food for thought kinda of thing. We will see til' next time...
